I went to the midnight release event for TaylorMade’s two new “white wonders” for 2012, the TaylorMade R11S and the RocketBallz Driver. I remembered writing an article last June about the difference between the faces of the R11 and the Burner SuperFast 2.0, that article can be read Here. What I found was that “the Burner SuperFast 2.0 face is noticeably broader laterally and shorter vertically than that of the R11”. Pictured below: the Burner SuperFast 2.0 (left) and R11 (right)…

At the release event I thought to take a similar picture of the R11s compared to the RocketBallz Driver. The RocketBallz on the left and the R11s pictured on the right.

I was able to put a lefty Rocketballz next to a righty R11s, which I think shows the differences between the two even better. However what stood out most to me was the new RocketBallz Driver’s face compared to last years Burner SuperFast 2.0. I noticed that the RocketBallz face is even more vertically short, leading me to suggest teeing the ball a bit lower still than I did with the Burner SuperFast 2.0. That remains to be tested!
